Do you remember the SEGA Dreamcast that turned out not too successful? Yeah, me neither, but that might have something to do with all the ports alot of it’s good games get. Amongst those good games is Crazy Taxi which has been ported, since then, to PC, PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable, and it seems that there’s a possibility of an XBox 360 port as well.

Some of you may have heard of it and some of you may have not; but that’s what I’m here for. Crazy Taxi was a game in which you selected one of four taxi drivers to play as while you transport passengers from point A to point B as fast as you can and as reckless as possible. It was a pretty simple design, but a well implemented one at that.

Crazy Taxi: Fare Wars is the PlayStation Portable port of Crazy Taxi and Crazy Taxi 2, combining features brought in by earlier ports such as “Crazy Box” in Crazy Taxi. Unfortunately as far as I’m aware there is no Crazy Taxi: Fare Wars for PSP Go. So with the introduction out of the way it’s time to get to the actual review. I’m going to review both games simultaneously since they are practically the same. Of course, I will be comparing them as well.

Dragon Age: Origins

Dragon Age: Origin box art.Posted by: Dralel

First of all, I would like to comment that Dragon Age: Origins does not compensate as much freedom as The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion offers. Dragon Age: Origins is a dark heroic fantasy game, made and based on mature audiences. So expect a lot of gore, language and sexual content.

Like Mass Effect, you are required to create your own character. You can choose a quick play option if you don’t prefer to slide mini-menus to choose your character’s facial features. After this, and after choosing a race, class and brand, you need to select a difficulty out of four: easy, normal, hard and nightmare. Now depending on your race of your character (out of human, elf and dwarf) you will have different origin stories, each unique with their own sub-plot and character development. Obviously, each origin prologue has its own advantages and disadvantages, and will increase relevant stats on your character. For example, it would be an intelligent idea to create an elf mage because their Magic and Willpower increases by one. For my purpose, I chose to be a male noble warrior.

Update

I was in the middle of my Crazy Taxi review (See? I haven’t forgotten yet) and realised I had forgotten something on that last post. The video review I’ve mentioned once or twice before.

Well when Thursday comes we’ll be recording footage, and I’ll be doing the review (kind of) with Jasoneatscake, although he’ll mostly be commenting to my comments. The one recording the video will be Chaos Overlord and will be playing most of it. (Of course there will be segments I play as well – which should be obvious when I’m talking about it).

So yeah, expect this video review early February. And expect my Crazy Taxi review tomorrow, my left pointing is feeling really, really tired all of a sudden. I’ve made so many typo’s in this post already, so see you again tomorrow !

(Note that I cleaned up the titles before post).

(Note that I didn’t notice I typo’d the word “typo” into “title”).

New Reviews

Well firstly I’d like to rage at wordpress for not saving my draft because I was disconnected last night. Damn you! I shouldn’t have closed the explorer down.

Right, with that out of the way I come with… you know what. I can’t remember how the post went anymore and it was so good too!

Right, basically expect reviews soon, but not until the end of the week. I have coursework to be done and hand in this week but come thursday I’ll have some reviews finished up for you. Here’s the list of what’s currently being worked on:

  1. Crazy Taxi: Fare Wars (Sony PlayStation Portable)
  2. Army of Two: 40th Day (Multiplatform)
  3. Assassin’s Creed 2 (Multiplatform)
  4. Fallout 3 (Multiplatform)
  5. Ace Attorney aka Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (Nintendo DS).

I have other games that I will do a review for as well; such as [Prototype], Ghostbusters, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Bayonetta. Those are my confirmed ones anyway.

And about the Twilight review? Yeah, forget about it. I’m not gonna sit through it again, but I will direct you to a link that says everything I had thought. Just know that my overall score for it was 5/10, it meets it’s target audience well but the quality sucks.

Right, well expect the first five reviews in that order. Crazy Taxi is almost done.

2009 Review

I thought I’d take this time now that the year 2009 is completely over, to review it. Well, a summed review anyway since, if you can’t tell, I’m pretty lazy. Don’t worry though, my new years resolution is to achieve what I wanted when I first made Spoony Bard Reviews, to make good, fair reviews.

Unfortunately, I still don’t own my own XBox 360 yet. Because of that, I’m not going to focus much on it. Hopefully sometime soon I’ll have one so I can add in 360 exclusives into the mix.

I couldn’t get to play all the games I wanted last year so bare in mind that will affect the results too.
